PillowFacts / Requests
Ask for a situation this index does not cover
This index is built from situations, and the situations have to come from somewhere. The first one came from a single person describing a problem precisely: side sleeper, AirPods in, most pillows leave the ear aching and one does not. That one sentence produced the ear-pressure cluster, which is now nine pages and the reason this site exists at all.
Requests post publicly to #test-results in the Discord. Nothing else is stored — no email, no account, and no record of who sent what. Links are not accepted, because the value of a request is the situation.
What makes a request buildable
- The situation, not the product. 'I sleep in hearing aids' is buildable; 'recommend a pillow' is not.
- What you have already tried, and how it failed. A failure is more informative than a wish.
- Whether you know your measurement. If you do not, the calculator takes a minute and makes any answer sharper.
Requests that became pages
Asked: I sleep in a cervical collar after surgery and cannot turn my head at all.
Became: A page on what a fixed head angle does to the height of pillow that fits you.
Asked: Side sleeper who sleeps with AirPods in — most pillows make the ear ache after a while.
Became: The whole ear-pressure cluster: earbuds, piercings, hearing aids, earplugs, and CNH.
Asked: What about people with a CPAP mask? The straps are the problem, not the ear.
Became: The face-equipment cluster, covering masks and nasal pillows.
Fulfilled requests are listed with what they became. If a request produces nothing, that is recorded too rather than quietly dropped — most often because no maker publishes enough to answer it, which is itself worth saying.
