These sensations include feelings of numbness, tingling, or awkwardness are your body telling you that you stopped moving a while ago.
Just sleeping on one’s arm is not dangerous at all, although injuries could result in cases where the limb has been compressed to the extent that blood flow is prevented for long.
More often, however, this feeling is just a signal that you should change your position during sleep.
That is, when the arm starts regaining feeling, initially, you will experience distinct tingling, then the brief appearance of the burning sensation.
This occurs as the nerve fibres respond positively and behave as they are expected to do so within a few moments of time.
